FAIRDAY? WHY NOT MAKE IT A WEEKEND?
Breaking News: It´s going to be another FAIR WEEKEND at the Teylingen Castle Ruins in Voorhout in the Netherlands in 2012.

Saturday October 6th 2012 will be the date of the FAIR DAY, Sunday October 7th will be the date of FAIR FLIGHT (Please keep in mind that these are considered separate events for booking purposes, as some people can or want to attend the one day, and not the other.)

FAIR DAY consists of strange and stranger targets, eccentric archers, and fun prizes to be won.

There will be 30 3D style targets. Registration to take place from 08:30 onwards, followed by coffee and cake (or tea and biscuits). The shooting ranges open at 10:00. Don´t be late!

FAIR DAY is intended for FAIRBOW archers or their guests. We shoot with traditional bows and wooden arrows. Medieval arrowheads are permitted, heavy duty War Bows are permitted, and yes, bamboo arrows are considered traditional. Those with Asian composites need to bear in mind that they probably won´t be able to shoot full distance, you fellas are just too awesome.

FAIR FLIGHT, on Sunday, requires registration at 09:30. The Clout shoot will start at 10:30. There is a Ladies and Youngster Clout at 105 meters, and a Gentleman´s Clout at 168 meters. On the occasion it may be more suitable for Gentlemen to shoot in the Ladies class and for Ladies to join the Gentlemen.

After the Clout, there will be a Flight Shoot, two arrows an archer in each category (EWBS standard, livery, qp and DWS Crécy and Poitiers). Of the two arrows in each category, the one you shoot farthest will be registered.

The FAIR FLIGHT is intended for every one with a traditional bow and wooden arrows.

FAIR NIGHT: For the diehard participants, you can participate in both events and spend the night at Teylingen. We´ll have a number of medieval tents set up, though it´s not possible to reserve a sleeping place in them, first come, first served. There is also space to set up your own tent.

The camping site will be provided with adequate water drainage to help keep your feet dry (barring a monsoon) and there will be a toilet unit with showers. We´ll provide firewood for cooking fires. There will be a roast in the castle in the evening and a band (www.teetotallers.nl).

Costs: 17.50 for the FAIR DAY 10.00 for the FAIR FLIGHT

As usual, we will provide the catering on FAIR DAY. You´re on your own on the FAIR FLIGHT, although there will be catering facilities, but you´ll have to pay for their services. They´ll sell an English breakfast on Sunday morning, and snacks and drinks throughout the day. Check out the Fair Day Food link for menu information.

Registration is possible at www.fairbowshop.nl.It is possible to purchase tickets at the gates, but there is a maximum of 125 partipants, and this year we had a total of 3 tickets left to sell at the gate, so it´s a bit of a gamble. REMEMBER: Tickets to FAIR DAY and FAIR FLIGHT are two separate booking items! Book securely to avoid disappointment.
